The San Roque Club - Old Course

Course Overview

San Roque Golf Club’s Old Course is a cornerstone of championship golf on the Costa del Sol. Originally designed by Dave Thomas in 1990 and extensively renovated in 2019, the course has hosted multiple high-profile tournaments, including the Spanish Open and European Tour Qualifying School finals.

Set within a mature cork oak forest at the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, the Old Course features tight fairways, elevated greens, and subtle contouring that rewards accuracy and course management. The redesign preserved its classic character while enhancing playability, drainage, and sustainability. Strategic bunkering and quick greens provide a balanced challenge, with course conditioning something to behold.

With a rich tournament history and a layout that combines traditional elegance with modern improvements, the Old Course continues to be a top-tier golfing venue in southern Spain, and one of the best in continental Europe.
