Course Overview

Located near Lagos in Portugal’s western Algarve is this spectacular 27-hole golf complex designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Overlooking the sweeping Bay of Lagos and the golden sands of Meia Praia, the course is widely celebrated for its breathtaking coastal scenery and innovative design.

The layout is divided into three nine-hole loops – Alvor, Lagos, & Praia – each offering its own character and challenge. Palmares blends parkland and links-style golf, with holes winding through pine-covered hills before descending to dramatic dunes beside the Atlantic. Rolling fairways, natural elevation changes, and coastal breezes create a dynamic test that rewards creativity and precision. The Praia loop, closest to the beach, is particularly memorable, delivering stunning ocean views and a true links-like experience.

The striking modern clubhouse, perched high above the course, offers panoramic views across the bay and provides a relaxed yet refined setting to unwind after a round.
