Course Overview

Empordà Golf Club, situated on Spain’s Costa Brava near Girona, offers 36 holes across two contrasting Robert von Hagge–designed layouts: the Forest Course and the Dunes Course.

The Forest Course weaves through centuries‑old umbrella pines set amid gentle, natural mounds. With narrow corridors, fast undulating greens, and strategic bunkering, the course demands accuracy and thoughtful approach play. Water hazards add further interest, particularly on approach shots to key par‑4s and par‑5s.

By contrast, the Dunes Course is influenced by traditional links‑style designs, featuring open, wind‑exposed fairways shaped by rolling dunes and dramatic water hazards. Long carries, elevated greens, and bold bunkering create a tournament‑level test that rewards creativity and precision.

Both courses underwent extensive renovation and modernisation in recent years to upgrade bunkering, drainage and condition, ensuring they meet contemporary tournament standards. Empordà has hosted the European Challenge Tour, DP World Tour Qualifying School and other elite events—underscoring its position among Spain’s premier golf resorts.
