Cornelia Golf Club - Belek
Course Overview
Tucked among the pine forests of Belek on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, Cornelia Golf Club offers one of the most distinctive golfing experiences in the region. Designed by six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo and opened in 2006, the resort features 27 championship holes split across the King, Queen and Prince nines. These loops can be combined in different ways to create three separate 18-hole layouts, each offering a slightly different character while maintaining the same strategic Faldo design principles throughout.
Unlike many resort courses in Belek that favour wide, forgiving fairways, Cornelia places a much stronger emphasis on positioning and course management. The fairways weave naturally through mature pine and eucalyptus woodland, with carefully shaped bunkers, rolling terrain and subtly contoured greens demanding precision from tee to green. Faldo’s influence is particularly noticeable around the greens, where tightly mown run-off areas and strategic bunkering create a strong short-game challenge and encourage a variety of recovery shots.
Each of the three nines has its own personality. The King Course is generally regarded as the most demanding, with tighter driving areas and several holes shaped by water hazards and doglegs. The Queen Course combines more open views with risk-and-reward opportunities, while the Prince Course offers a slightly more forgiving flow but still requires accurate iron play into the greens. The flexibility of the three-loop design allows the club to vary course combinations while maintaining championship-level conditioning throughout the year.
One of the defining features of Cornelia Golf Club is the natural way the layout blends into the surrounding landscape. Rather than dramatic earth movement or artificial shaping, the course uses the existing pine forest and sandy terrain to create a traditional, understated championship feel. The result is a course that rewards patience, strategy and thoughtful shot selection rather than simply power from the tee.
Cornelia has also built a strong international reputation through its association with professional golf, having hosted several major tournaments including the Turkish Airlines Open on the DP World Tour. Combined with outstanding practice facilities, a respected Faldo design and a peaceful woodland setting, Cornelia Golf Club remains one of the most complete and highly regarded golf resorts in Belek and one of the standout golfing destinations in Turkey.
