LykiaLinks Golf - Belek

Course Overview

Located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coastline around 30 minutes east of Belek, LykiaLinks Golf offers a golfing experience unlike any other in the region. Opened in 2008 and designed by renowned architect Perry O. Dye, the course was the first true links-style layout in Turkey and remains one of only a handful of genuine links courses in the Mediterranean. The 18-hole championship course plays to a par 72 and stretches to approximately 6,900 metres from the back tees, making it one of the longer and more demanding tests in the area.

While most golf courses in Belek are characterised by pine forests, tree-lined fairways and resort-style landscaping, LykiaLinks takes a very different approach. Set on a natural stretch of coastline beside the Mediterranean Sea and the Köprüçay River estuary, the course features rolling fairways, natural sand dunes, deep pot bunkers and large undulating greens. The layout is intentionally open, with few trees and an emphasis on the natural terrain, creating a playing experience more commonly associated with the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland.

Wind is a constant factor at LykiaLinks and plays a significant role in the challenge of the course. Conditions can change throughout the round, requiring golfers to adapt their strategy and ball flight from hole to hole. The firm-running fairways and links-style ground game reward creativity as much as power, making course management particularly important.

Several of the most memorable holes are found along the coastline, these holes are among the most photographed in Turkish golf and offer a striking contrast to the inland sections of the course. The closing stretch is equally demanding, with strategically positioned bunkers, expansive waste areas and a challenging approach into the 18th green requiring a strong finish.

LykiaLinks has developed a strong reputation among golfers looking for something different from the traditional Belek resort experience. Its natural setting, links-inspired design and exposure to the elements create a style of golf rarely found elsewhere in the region. For those seeking a course that relies on strategy, imagination and adaptability, this course provides one of the most distinctive golfing experiences in Turkey.
